At the reptile store that I work at, there is this fella that comes in to buy crickets for his WC Hyla versicolor from his backyard, so he can fatten them up for fishing!!! The thing is, that Hyla versicolor are a protected and endangered species here in Ontario. Secondly, it is illegal to keep native species in captivity here. Even after I told him that, he laughed at me and said "So what?" It is frustrating how ignorant people can be sometimes, but don't get me started :)
One more thing. I have to thank Wes Von Papineau for all of the 'herps in news' messages that he posts. They are always very intersting and thought provoking. Thanks Wes, we appreciate it.
