If you can't find a 1st year Latin text, Latin and Greek roots will provided in a decent dictionary. Just look for a similar word. Some of it will make no sense -- like the worm-like vermiculatis -- and some you won't find, like P. savageii, which was apparently named by Dr. Savage.
