And Amazons are a lot more active than emeralds, actively hunting a lot of the time as opposed to emeralds preference to ambush. Because of this, they usually need more room than an emerald because they like to cruise along the cage a lot.
BTW, I also use a 55gallon aquarium for both my amazons, and i wouldn't imagine ever needing to go bigger.
