cooks tree boa part 2

I bought the cooks tree boa and he is in his hide all of the time, I do have stuff for him to climb on. I put him on the vine and he looked around for a minute and then went back into the hide. Do you think this is just becuase he is ina new inviroment and after he gets acclimated he will come out of his hide?
