The concept is almost exactly like mine, only I use paper towels as a substrate. Don't worry about your ATB spending time hiding on the ground. They do this alot. ATBs are not as arboreal as their cousins the ETBs. Mine sleeps on the ground under a hid and cruises around the pvc pipes at night. Good luck w/ your ammie they are awesome snakes!
