The most forgiving of the two (as far as husbandry goes) is going to be the Amazon Tree Boa, but if you set the cage up properly (before you get the animal) and are dedicated enough to spray the cage with water every day or two (depending on the humidity in your home), you should be OK either way.

As far as Green Tree Pythons starting at $500, that's not at all true. You can get a nice CBB baby for around $350, or a CH baby for around $250-275.

But, Amazons are definitely more affordable. If you look hard enough and do your homework, you can find some really nice looking CBB babies for around $50-100.
