:Well, I awoke to a wonderful sight this morning... 9 big, healthy amazon babies! The mother is only around 4 1/2', so I was rather pleased/surprised. No slugs and no stillborns. Mom went from around 540 grams pre-birth to 280 grams after birth... quite a bit of effort! I always feel so bad seeing how flabby and sickly the mothers look after giving birth... but oh well, guess that goes with the game. She's already taken her first meal in 5 months this evening. Anyway, I got 5 garden phase, which more or less resemble the mother, and 4 very nice yellows, which look a lot like dad. They ranged from 19-21 grams a piece. The only dissapointment was that I was hoping for a bit more variety in the litter, but I'm not complaining in the least! Anyway, enjoy the pics, and wish me luck on getting these guys to feed.
