Assuming the seller was telling the truth when they said it was feeding for them....
Call the guy who sold it to you and find out every detail you can about how it was housed and fed. Ask a lot of questions and try to duplicate what they were doing and it just may work. If it does work, keep everything exactly like that for a long enough time that it eats regularly and without problems every time.

temperature and type of heat source
feed item used
method of presenting food item
time of day feeding took place
