Thanks for the info. I didn't know that about the three banded.

::Ooh, I've always wanted one. I see you got the three banded rather than the larger nine banded armadillo. My friends tell me to skip the idea as armadillos are the only other animal other than people to carry leprosy. Wouldn't want that.

:There's no evidence that any of the armadillos other than the 9-banded can carry leprosy. Also, leprosy is a pretty curable disease, not horrifying as in the pre-antobiotic days!

:>I still want one. Its been a dream of mine to own an animal that always has quadruplet identical twins with every birth.

:The 3-banded only has 1 offspring per litter. So if you want quadruplets, you need a 9-banded (but then you've got the leprosy hazard and much harder care requirements!)
