:I am taking care of a forest hingeback and need some suggestions on getting him/her to eat. He is supposed to be for sale at the pet store I work for but he came in in bad shape so I decided to take him home and see what I could do. When I first got him his eyes were swollen shut. After daily soaks his eyes have opened up. He is somewhat shy but not as much as I expected. The problem is I haven't seen him eat since I got him. I have tried mixed greens, strawberries, zuchini, carrots, cucumbers, mazuri and earthworms. I realize a stool sample is important but I have yet to see him poop and I have had him since Wednesday. I want to make sure he is doing well before he is for sale as I realize they do not usually fair well in captivity and it was not our choice to have him, he came in with some reptiles from another store that was doing away with reptiles completely. I do have 2 hermanns so I now the basics of tortoise care but would appreciate some suggestions. I've mostly left him alone except to soak him in order to minimize stress and let him acclimate. Thanks in advance for suggestions.
