I think it should be said, too, that bribery works. Find a couple of healthy treats that will get them to eat out of your hand. Always take one when going out to the pen. It won't take them long to figure out that you are bringing good stuff. I know that at least box turtles and aquatics can tell different people apart, so I'm not sure if this will work for all people or just the one bringing the treat (it worked for just the one with treats for us).
