The mere fact that the Sulcata can "see" through the "wooden bars" will tempt him to push through.
By erecting metal posts will maybe hold back his "push" but you are going to tease him to insanity.
Consider yourself in a yard with a "see though" gate, wouldn't you try to get through it?
