I often hear from fellow redfoot keepers that Pritchard's
TURTLES OF VENEZUELA is the best source of information on them and denticulata. It IS an excellent book with very interesting photos.
However, the best account of them in my opinion, was done by Dr. Debra Moskovits in Brazil.
Her study is titled "The Behavior and Ecology of the Two Amazonian Tortoises, Geochelone carbonaria and Geochelone denticulata, in Northwestern Brasil"
It is available through UMI Dissertation Services in Ann Arbor Mich. 1-800-521-0600 or http://www.bellhowell.infolearning.com
At 327 pages total it costs about $30.00 for unbound copies (which you can get bound at your local printer for a few bucks) or bound copies at around $50.00.
Though there are no photos it is THE MOST IN DEPTH study of these tortoises that exists. I highly recommend it to those who are serious about these tortoises.
I got my first copy from Debby years ago when she first completed it and I still refer to it often.
While many of the graphs and charts are somewhat difficult (for me anyway!) the text is very interesting and informative.
