wow i wonder why its not putting out that much heat? Maybe u could try putting a piece of tile or flagstone under the heat lamp to make it warmer. That is what i do and mine love it! The female stays there most of the day but the male only does when he gets to eat lol. :)

:I got a 200 Watt ceramic lamp, then a 75 watt heating lamp both with properly certified fixtures.
:Sounds like I should just go for a third device that does uva/b/heat. :\ I'm really surprised the 200 Watt cermaic doesn't do more, it says great for 85+ in 40 gallon terraniums, How could it barely be 85 directly beneath it! hahah.

:::::As for the heat, I really thought that this lamp would be suffecient, it was the biggest and most wattage! hahah. The tub's rather large, it can fit 2-3 people, so I suppose I need something better. I'll see what I can rig together to get more heat and proper lighting.
:::I've been using calcium/D3 powder on his food, and have bathed him regularly as well. The lamps are only about 6-7" off the surface, but the thermometer placed underneath only hits the high 80's. These are pretty big lamps, so, I think this ceramic heater just isn't working too well. I'll try and find a better replacement. I'll check out some tube fixtures and the items you recommended.
