::The timothy hay I use comes in cubes that are formed from finely chopped hay. After soaking it and mixing it with the mazuri, it looks mostly like mushy mazuri, not clumps of hay with a little mazuri sticking to it. So it seems to important for the hay to be cut into finer bits.

::But we all do what we must and hope for the best. I've tried to feed my hatchling russian a varied diet with adequate fiber, low protein, lots of hydration, calcium, sunlight, etc. But I still worry that he looks a little too "rugged" in the shell.
