having met Teddy in person (and Niki, of course), I would have to say that tortoise is probably the best cared for PET (including all kinds) I have met. Niki dotes on him like he was another child. Every animal in their house has immaculate housing and she runs a beautiful clean house. Teddy is a marvel to see all by himself.

It might be entertaining to see her frazzled (for some) but I think it's important to realize that she's had some great experience and raised an impressive and healthy tortoise. (my dogs wish they had it so good. They are always asking me to send them down to live with Niki)
