I was in Lowe's last year and saw the pre-hung sections of chain link fencing and a light bulb went off in my head. I use them for lids for my pens that need lids now. They are easy to use... I hinged mine with a metal bracket designed for screwing into a stud to hold a pipe against a wall. The pipe sides of the fence section let it rotate nicely.
Anyway, it's sturdy, comes in multiple sizes, and is easy to use and can stand the weather well.
