first of all, glad to hear that there is some concern for the forests. some people are just so set in their ways. anyway, about 1/2 hour from my house is "the senator," florida's largest cypress. it's estimated to be about 3000-3500 years old and is over 17 feet in diameter! there used to be many more like it but in the mid 20th century they chopped them down for their heartwood :( just thought someone might like to know.
