Everyone I spoke to said Colombian are aggressive and that paraguayan Tegu can't even be compared to Argentine when is comes to temperament. Also, I would be careful where you buy it. Some sellers might say there selling a Argentine when it's a Paraguyan. I believe both look similar when they are young. I think Ron St. Pierre would be a good person to speak to regarding Tegu?

::hello im new to this forum.i was recently reading an old reptiles mag when i saw the article on argentine b/w tegu.are these a good species for a beggier of tegu keeping.i have other reptiles .3 beardies and 3 geckos.so im not a beginner herper.or is there a better one thats tame and a fairly readonable price.i would like to start with a baby or youg juvi.if its the b/w tegu what is a good size cage for just 1 that it could live in forever????would 6' by 3' by 2' or 3' be good(lenghtxdepthxhight)

I've heard nothing but good things about Ron St. Pierre...I'm sure you might be able to get a cheaper tegu...but it's always the best option to spend more money when you know you're absolutely getting quality..I would check out www.bluetegu.com and see what Ron St. Pierre has...He usually has great tegus.
