this is a link to Tony Dongarras article entitled a case for temporalis. I think it is well writen and makes some good points.
: It seems that you are not going to be happy until somebody tells you that, yes, temporalis is a valid designation. I am not a milksnake expert but it seems to me that the taxonomists have determined that temporalis is bogus. They don't have to say why this obsession with the "coastal plains milk" is bogus, they just have to name everyting in its "range" something different. L. triangulum is a difficult species and it probably has several occult spp within the commonly accepted ssp. As of now, no authority accepts temporalis as a legitimate name. See the link below
