Everything is fine in AZ. If you can't learn how to noose lizards from someone out there such as Jim Grizzell or any number of other lizard people, simply use a flyswatter as a collecting device. About half the lizards you hit may die but the rest will only be stunned. Most critters will eat frozen/thawed with a little training so that should not be a problem. If yours won't, freeze the deceased anyway and I am sure someone will be able to use them.
Have you tried switching to pinky/fuzzy mice? Protein is protein! Personally, I have had bad luck feeding anoles to anything but animals from within their range. Also, skinks are much better than anoles as a feeder lizard. Check back issues of Herpetology for an article on the "Incredible, Edible Skink" by John Rossi, MS,DVM.
