I want chuckwallas

I was referred by chuckwalla forum. Was hoping to buy chuckwallas (preferably captive bred) but after reviewing Fish & Game booklet it sounds like I have to catch my own. Does this apply to captive brred from out of CA? What about localities not known to live in CA? I live in L.A. area & would appreciate ANY info!
