The pic is of my garter that i found in my backyard here in N. Virginia. The only herps you find here are garters and some cotton mouths and copperheads. there are tons of toads and frogs but not much else. My favorite places to herp are California and Colorado also Utah and Nevada(only a little). In california there are so many snakes and i especially love the gophers. In Colorado they have everything! My favorites are leopard frogs and Bull snakes. For other herps like turtles and tortoises a good place that i have been is Minnesota along the rivers. There are still many places i want to go. Also in Canada i have had fun herping for frogs and garters.
