corn snakes are so sweet i can't imagine anyone hating them. my best friend hated snakes until she met my snow corn. she totally loves them now i think mainly because even her toddlers could hold and touch my corn snake. i have had friends that were scared of snakes so they would stay in my living room and not go back to the reptile room. quite a few years back i roomed with a girl who had a gigantic enclosure with 7 BIG redtail boas . right smack dab in the middle of the living room. some people wouldn't even come into the house, but to me that was thier loss, not mine. i no longer have my sweetie snow corn, she passed on and i haven't had the heart to get another. i do have three savana monitors and my adult is free roam. you should hear some of the remarks i get out of that! some of my friends are wary (as they should be) some love them and my mother won't even come over!! different people like different animals. some people are more freaked out by my pet rats than by the lizards. you are always going to get different reactions to any pet you have. some people hate cats some are scared to death of even the sweetest dog. i myself used to be terribly afraid of birds. i wouldn't let this situation make you lose friends.when they say something negative about your snakes tell them you don't appreciate it, everyone has different tastes. stick up for yourself and if your friends dump you for it then they aren't your friends. good luck and feel free to e-mail if you ever wanna talk.
