i got my first ever snake in texas over this summer, after 2 weeks of reading up on them i chose to get a ball python from the local pet shop in tomball,tx. the pet store was small smelled like bleach and hardwater stuff, the snakes had no watter, shelter or substrate. but i got mine any ways, much to my aunts dismay(shes terrified beyond belife of snakes). when it was time for me to return home to alaska after a month in texas we came to the probolem of getting him home. one of my moms friends had snuck a baby rabbit over in her pocket, so hey i geuss i could do it with a snake. so in my pocket Hiss(my new baby) went. by the time i got to alaska i had figured out that he was wild, even though i was assured over and over by the sales person that it was captive. he was the coolest snake when he was out of his cage he liked to curl up in my bun(my hair is really long so its allways up)but after 2 1/2 months of not eating and the vet saying that he was fine he died. oooo did those stupid %*$%^$^%# in texas get it. in the end of me ranting and raveing about my dead snake to a person accrost the us i finnaly sent hiss back to them.
now i got a new ball(france-wa) and ive had him allmost 4 months and hes doing great!! i learned my lesson, not to buy snakes from smelly pet shops.
