A couple of years ago I had a pair of grey waterdogs(Imature Tiger Salamanders) in a 5 gallon tank. I had it set up so it was part water and part land. The land must have been a little too high because I went down the basement to see them one day and poof...they were gone. At this time I also had a couple of dogs, and after days of searching I had givin up hope. I figured that there is no way these things could survive more than a couple of days down there with no food or water. Not to mention the dogs may have gotten them. Well....I was down my basement one day, about 7 or 8 months later...and I went in the back room and noticed something weird in the back corner. There sitting under a drip that occured anytime somone ran water upstairs was two rather large waterdogs, now with full tiger stripes, laying on each other. I quickly grabbed them up and made a new tank up for them. I don't know how they survived for so long with no obvious food source and without being seen, but they did....Three cheers for waterdogs!
