Suicidal Retic

I had a 6ft retic that succumbed to self-sustained injuries.
I was cleaning the cage below it's cage, and I heard a loud thumping from above, and noticed my snake attempting to strike visciously at me. I thought nothing of it, dismissed it as snake anger, and went on about my business.
An hour later, I came back to do something, and noticed a limp, but slightly rigomortised retic dead with a bloody nose. I guess that by hitting it's snout so hard on the glass, he broke some blook vesseld in it's face and drowned in it's own blood...sad I guess, but that could have been my hand....
