I work as a volunteer at my local zoo. During one particular program I was showing a Common Boa to the public. A shiny example of the state education system came up to me and said "Man, that's a big water moccassain!" In the most tactfull manner, I procedded to tell him that this was a Boa Constrictor from South America. He then proudly stated "Well I was fishin the other day and an 8 foot water moccassian jumped out of a tree into my boat" Once again, being as tactful as possible I told him it probably wasn't a water moccassain since they rarely get over 5 feet and can't climb trees very well. This man then showed his true intelligence by stating "Well my daddy told me that all poisonous snakes have pointy tails and this one had a pointy tail" How was I to compete with such logic?! I simply told the man thank you and have a nice day. Just thought ya'll would find that funny. Gotta love the south!
