I've been involved with reptiles for 28 years, and I've never dealt with a snake as surly and disgusting as the Blood Python I handled yesterday(okay, wc watersnakes excluded). I own a business in Arizona, and a friend of mine brought in 2 Blood Pythons, each around 4 ft. They are really beautiful snakes, and I enjoyed just looking at them, but I didn't really want to handle them because I've read they can be nasty. When he handed one to me, I quickly realized that these particular pythons are extremely powerful and when restrained, can defecate in large quantities...with a range of about 3 feet. It really grossed me out and I just wanted to warn others that they may encounter these fine, fine specimens, and to hold them away from the body and with some consideration of how strong they are. Just wanted to vent!(pun intended) JK
