Hi, just thought I would just pass this along. I'm 17 yrs old and I live about an hour north of Seattle, in wash. state. About eight years ago in the dead of summer, my dad and I were walking outside, by a shed we have on our property, I walked over to a bush and I saw a big snake (maybe three feet) with black, red, and yellow bands (I can't remember the sequence). I told my dad to come over and when he came, told me to get away because it was "poisonious" It was coiled and from what I can remember it was hissing? I wish I could go back in time! There is a isolated population of California Mountain Kings here in Washington state, but they are about four hours away. It could have been someones pet, but we live on 150 acres and have hardley anyone around us, plus I know everyone around us and no one keeps herps.

Another time, about 10 years ago, It was raining hard outside. I was looking out our window and saw a lizard. I again told my dad that there was a lizard outside. So he wen't out and grabbed it.
When it was in and warmed up, it jumped out of the jar I had it in and ran on it's hind legs, behind our sofa!. My dad finaly caught it and let it go. From what I can remember about it, it was black, maybe four inches tall on it's hind legs. The only lizards around here are northern Alligater Lizards. and it was not one!

Thanks for reading,

Toby
