This is one of those strange but true stories.I had a job reading meters for an electric company in Fl.One of the best fringe benefits was that I would see some great herps. If I saw one I wanted to keep I would carry it in one hand until I could get it back to my truck. Well one day I caught a medium sized ribbon snake normally I would have just watched it, but I was scheduled to give a talk on snakes of Fl and figured the more visuals the better. AS I was reading a meter I heard an alarm call of a treefrog. The ribbon snake had spotted a treefrog between the meter can and the block wall and grabbed it while in my hand. I just stood still for a while and watched him eat the croaking frog.It surprised me that a wild snake would be worried about eating when he was being held himself.
