Mike ST-- In my experience, most of the North American softshells grow pretty damn fast, especially if you get yourself a female. Of course, you can't tell the sex as a hatchling. I recently had a female Florida Softshell that got to over 6 inches in less than 3 years. When getting a softshell and a softshell habitat, I'd think BIG! --Maxx
