Why did you get your turtles from a restraunt? We have heard about the use of turtles for food in Asia, China in particular, and that Malaysia suppliers much of that market. Were these turtles going to be eaten anyways? I know it is upsetting to lose a pet especially if it could have been avoided, but if my guess is correct, at least they would have had a better chance than they would have if you hadn't gotten them.
Just my thoughts. Sorry for your loss. : (
