VA Reptile Rescue received a FL softshell turtle today, roughly 5-6" carapace size. This is a new species for me, despite many years of reptile care. I've looked online many places, read many caresheets, but none tell me how to guesstimate the gender. If anyone knows a reliable way, please e-mail me directly. The gender may determine who will want to adopt it (due to size constraints, etc). Also, I like to know for my records. A local nature center is interested, but I will know for sure on Monday if they are going to adopt. If not, then he will need a new home. Information and application can be found on my webpage.
