Hi, I'm attempting to acheive proper acidity levels for my Snapping turtle (25 gal pond), and my Asian Leaf turtles (50 gal pond). I have an acid buffer, but have had little luck acheiving consistency, as the acid levels seem to spike to dangerous levels over time. I've tried peat in the filter, but I can't seem to get enough into the filter to get where I need to be, so I'm hoping that someone can give me some insight. The water here is pretty alkaline, about 8.0, and I need to be around (6.5). If the acid buffer is the way to go, please let me know a safe way to get where I need to be!
Thanx in advance for your help!
