: whats the best habitat (tank setup) for a juvenile spiny, also whats the best food and light

I have mine in a 20 gallon long tank with a canister filter and a full spectrum bulb. The tank is lined with about 3 inches of small aquarium gravel with no basking area. I have tried various basking set-ups, but he never leaves the water, so I ditched them after a couple of years. Yours is young, so try it and see if he likes it.

My softy loves imitation crab meat. It's made of fish anyway. Also goldfish, turtle sticks, eathworms, crickets, mealworms, and ghost shrimp (he loves those!). He won't eat lettuce or anything-strictly carnivorous.
