my ss is is doing something weird with her mouth help

i have a filter that give air to the water but my ss stay in the water and she opends her mouth a little not that much and closes it and keeps on doing that and when she gets up to breath she breaths normaly and does everthing normal she at her goldfish but how i told you when she opends her mouth a little that there way of absorbing oxigen thru the water if it's not like this how do they at when they are absorbing oxygen thru the water
