Congrats on your new softshell turtle, as far as it acting 'crazy', this is quite normal, they're very stressy by nature and do not make a good pet to anyone who's wanting to handle it constantly, they're fun to watch as they get used to their enviroment, they will burrow alot, and the best choice is a grain-like gravel, very similar to sand, this allows your softshell to burrow without effortlessly, also, your softshell will eat anything from turtle pellets to crayfish and feeder fish, so balance your diet with those three things and you'll be fine.

: i got a ss but i want to know what type of food should i feed it and my ss does not stay still in his tank he just keess on going crazy swimming quick is this normal and what type of thing should i put in the bottom i don't know were i could fine the sand and if i put a 3-4cm little rocks that i had with my res would that be ok or it will scrach my ss
