: I think it may be a FLA Softshell. But I was wondering if they need to cover up with sand/gravel to catch their fishes. Or do they just swim around after them.. and Also will they eat that Reptomin stuff? thanks.

You will have to use a water filter with these turtles, like a penguin or second nature type filter. Something that airarates the water since these turtles take in oxygen from the water by passing water over the lining on the inside of their throats. They are somewhat sensitive to unclean water so thats where the filter comes in. You must use sand for the substrate. The plastaron is covered by a layer of skin that is easily scratched by rocks and course substrate. If it becomes scratched this can easly lead to infections so use sand. As for food, its the same with any animal you must provide a ballanced diet. they will eat the reptomin but dont use it as a sole source of nutrients. That will lead to stunted development, and shell disfigurement. they realy like crayfish and minnows also worms, and crickets. they like to bury them selves in the sand not just to ambush prey but to hide also. they will take food both ways.
