Tom --
I am by no means an expert in this area but the closest thing thing to a softshell that behaves in this fashion (from my limited knowledge) would be a Flyriver Turtle -- close to a softie but no cigar!!

: Hello:
: Call me crazy but a friend of mine swears there is a pelychelys Citronii which is vegetarian and eats such things as mangos as they fall into the water. I haven't been able to find any such turtle in any book. In a last ditch effort to thwart off this verbal insistance that my friend is giving me, will somebody give me a statement saying this turtle is truly nonexistant. If there is such a creature, please give me a proper reference so that I may stand corrected. Thanks
