Hello All -

The Bay Area Amphibian and Reptile Society (BAARS) meets in Palo Alto, CA on the 4th Friday of every month, at 8:00 PM (at the Cubberly Community Center. This month (May 25th) will be an open house/bring your animal night; we will be explaining what our club is about and the activities that we are involved with. We do many educational reptile shows at some of the local nature centers and schools (Supher Creek Nature Center, Alum Rock Park, Palo Alto Jr Museum, etc). We do some field herping on campouts (Pinnacles National Monument and Pepperwood). We promote habitat conservation and captive propogation, as well as reptile rescue (through our adoptions program). Finally, we promote responsible reptile ownership through education, and have guest speakers at our general meetings and a monthly newsletter.

We're currently looking for reptile owners who would like to get involved in events and would like to contribute to the future direction of our club. ...So, if you live in the California Bay Area and would like to participate, checkout our website or drop me an email.

Thanks,
Scott Alexander
