what kind of snake is this

my boyfriend brought home a snake from work. it is about 10 inches long not as big around as a pencil and is black w/ a light neon green pattern which sometimes looks white. we live in southern indiana but he works in a wood factory which gets wood from all over the world. she (we think) is very fiesty but has let us hold her after a week. any suggestions as to what she may be. please feel free to e mail me.
