Heres a good way for smaller turtles. Grab either the bottom left or the bottom right of the carapace, with your fingers in the socket of the back leg, and twist the turtle up 'til its almost upsidedown. Kind of hold the turtle away from your body. I hold my common every day like this, and he kind of goes intoa trance and stays still...try it out. Those claes wont be able to get'cha!
