:Hiya Steve-
:You might have better luck when you move your turts to that round 6x5x2 tub.
:I had the same exact measurements on my 300gal. round Rubbermaid stock tank and didn't have any problems . . . until I tried putting in a koi filter in the tub which gave one of my 35lb. females the "lift" she needed to haul her self out. I think she pulled herself out using the outake tube. So now there is nothing in the tub.
:For now, you might want to place a large diameter PVC pipe running around the entire top of your tank. By doing this, the curve of the pipe would not give your turts a place to hook their claws into. I've seen this done on another fellas big turt tank.
:Good Luck,
:Gam
Good idea, thanks Gam: The turtle I'll be putting in it has a 22" shell and the walls will be 24". I'll just have to raise the pvc pipe up a little. Steve
