:I got a 1 year old from J Richards in August of 2001. I also got 5 hatchlings from a breeder in Louisiana in Sept. 2001.The yearling was 2 1/2 inches, and the hatchlings were the normal 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 inches carapace length.Last summer, when the hatchlings turned 1 year old, i sold the two 'smallest' ones to make room for the 3 i was going to keep, along with the now 2 year old from Richards.
: The 2 smallest were 5 and 6 inches long.Now, the 3 remaining'hatchlings' are 8,8 1/2, and 9 1/2 inches carapace length, at 16 months old.
: The 2year 2 month old is 9 inches carapace length.
: I had alli snappers years ago, but they never grew like these.Water temp.,diet, cover and water pH i believe need to come together to promote growth. .........alan.
