John at turtleman.com had a 15 inch shell length alligator snapper available for something like $275 + shipping, if I remember correctly. He's got tons of them so I'm sure he could find you a slightly smaller one for even less. You might also want to call zoos or attractions in the turtle's natural range. They get offers to take unwanted pet alligator snappers and could pass your info. on to callers. Though most people who call offering alligator snappers actually have commons. Good luck.

:i got my lil 2.5 incher, and now im itchin for sumthin a lil larger, plus i sold my 12 inch common to a nature center. i want one about the size of ravenspirit's. anybody that dont want one of those beauty's, you know where to send em. =)
