That was my take on it also. The seller had marked another photo (not shown) that was clearly the yellow female as the red male. I was just happy that I got the younger looking turtle pictured on the left in the photo of the pair. That female was cool but she had some miles on her.

:Id rather say that the one on the crate is the female on on the right of the 2nd pic......
