Alligator Snapper Caging Problem

I have a young alligator snapper who I am afraid will out grow the rubbermade tube I have for him. I live in wisconsin so I can't just put him in a river, lake, or pond. The size of my snapper is about 3 1/2 inches long give or take. Anyways if someone out there encountered this same problem or has any ideas pleas tell me.
