:We have an 8' x 2' aquarium that has a glass front and the rest is wood. The wood is about 1 to 1 1/2 inches thick. It is coated in a heavy marine paint. My wife keeps diamondback terrapins in it (brackish water)and it works great. It was used as a salt water tank for years before we purchased it and does not leak at all. The glass in front is framed within the wood. :Good Luck

Anyone have any idea where I start looking for a paint like this?
Boat shops ?
