I was swapping the water out in my alligator snapper's pond today and figured I give him his first scrub. I used the depressed thumb on the hose trick and 'pressure washed' his shell for a bit. A lot of green slime was blasted off and I could see this neat pink/ purple tint coming through. I then took a large push broom with pretty stiff bristles and yanked the pole off of it. As I blasted him with the hose I started scrubbing his shell. This turtle has a pretty cool tint on his shell. Its a mix of the standard rusty/ brown and the forementioned tint. I couldn't quite get him totally clean because he seemed to wake up after about 10 minutes and started crawling around the drained pond. Next time I drain it I'll be sure to have a camera handy to get some pics of him.
